Facebook Introduces Moments

The American social network has introduced a new photo related feature.

Facebook has introduced a new photo related feature, called Moments. Facebook news informed that the product manager, Will Rubin, has stated that the released update is capable of arranging photos in one’s phone into groups. It is revealed that the application uses photographing occasions to arrange the stored pictures. It not only identifies friends in photos but also confidentially sends those photos to them.
Facebook news today reported that when the latest picture-related application is downloaded and operated, then it clearly mentions two catalogs for its users. One of them is known as private, while the other is called Sync. When a user begins using the new feature, he or she is asked for permissions whether to disseminate the stored pictures with the person, which the platform operator has studied and recognized in pictures.
The feature permits users to freely make decisions regarding their privacy issues, as they can toggle some pictures and keep others away from reach. An official has stated that tagging someone in a picture would not activate the feature. It follows its own notifying procedure; for instance, if a user, who has installed the application, takes some shots, then he or she would receive a notification regarding the sharing ability and the presence of friends in the photos.
Facebook breaking news informed that sometimes, the feature also asks its users if they want to share photos with one person or a group. If it fails to find a name or set of names, then the users are asked if they want to enter the name of any one or more of their friends in the provided space. This technology would improve the relationship between friends, as they would be able to share memorable events.
The update would enable people to share a significant number of photos and develop a set of photo albums including users and tagged friends. Market experts believe that the new technology would not only speed up the process of photo related communication but also improve the corporate giant’s reputation in the highly competitive world.
Facebook should now take measures to launch the new user-friendly update in the best possible manner to meet its claims for ‘connecting the world’. The social network giant is known for its dominance in the online world. Its recent application presents it with challenges regarding the privacy and security concerns of its users. Thus, the company is required to address it in the most adequate manner.

Twitter's "Experiments" Comes To iOS Users

Twitter has decided to take Experiments, the beta testing program to iOS platform now. It is in the early stage at the moment.

Back in 2013, the social network giant, Twitter unveiled a testing program, beta version. That beta program was made available to the Android users which let them try the new builds for the platform and also be able to test the features that are in the experimental phase before they could be released publicly. That program has now been made available for the iOS users. The reports had been confirmed by the social network’s representatives stating that some of the users had been receiving the invitation via the message in their app.
This latest Twitter news was reported to us by couple of users who expressed that they had been notified with the pop-up on iPhone app for the social network. It asked the users to join the “Twitter for iOS Experiments Program.” This program has been unveiled and made available so the company can be helped by the end-users in order to test the new features and also the fixes. It is distributed by the company’s Crashlytics service.
Crashlytics is a service for crash reporting that was acquired by the social giant back in 2013. It is the part of broader platform named Fabric which is for mobile development. The same year after acquiring this service, the company introduced “Beta by Crashlytics” which provided the testing platform for app beta.
Twitter news reports that as per the public documentation which details the iOS experiments program. The testers that are volunteering in the program will be given the access to the testing/experimental versions of the application. It shall include those features that are supposed to be confidential and secretive by the testers. This points to the fact that if the user participates in the volunteer testing program and see an interesting feature in the beta build for the app then you are not supposed to tweet about it or share it with others for that matter.
There had been a lot of rumors regarding the program coming to iOS, for instance, one of the Reddit users spotted that there had been a support documentation regarding this in March 2015. Furthermore, in April, there had been users that tweeted regarding the invitation being received from the social network to join the program however when they clicked on the link they discovered that the link was broken.
There had been a handful of reports being received regarding iOS Experiments by Twitter which points out to the fact that it is only in the early stages at the moment. According to people closed to the context, it currently includes participants in several hundreds but the company plans on involving more.

Uber's Efforts To Regulate Drivers In China

The company has taken a measure to regulate its drivers in the People’s Republic of China.
The American taxi service, Uber, has taken a measure to regulate its drivers in the People’s Republic of China. Uber news reported that its China unit has instructed its driving partners to ensure that they do not confront with competing drivers and law enforcing agencies. Experts stated that the guidelines have been issued to avoid regulatory problems in the territory, where officials are affected by instances of social instability.
Social media sources have reported that the transporter has asked its drivers in the eastern city of Hangzhou to maintain social stability and harmony after one of its passengers fought with a cab driver in an incident. The firm has maintained a controversial record in the second largest economy in the world, as the policing authorities have detained its drivers.
Uber news today informed that the targeted drivers have tried to seek help from other private car passenger. The company has threatened to terminate contracts of drivers whose GPS coordinators show that they have not left any dispute scene.
The private drivers have altered their routes to avoid confrontation. Since its entrance in the Chinese market, the authorities have never welcomed the cab service, as in April, its Guangzhou office was raided by the law enforcers. This presented many problems to the goodwill of the company.
The hostility of the Chinese officials has failed to halt the growth of the North American transporter, as its CEO has stated that riders are benefitting from 1,000,000 trips per day and its business has expanded by 100% in the last month. He added that the Asian giant represents one of the largest unexploited markets for the firm. It has been revealed that Uber intends to serve the residents of 50 more Chinese cities.
Uber intends to invest more than $1,000,000,000 in the Chinese economy. It is probable that if the enterprise expands successfully, then its expansion would not only satisfy commuter’s demands, but also create jobs for a significant number of people. Industry experts believe that if the drivers comply with the newly issued guidelines, then the relations between the Asian authorities and the organization might improve in the modern world.
Company sources have affirmed that the affordability of Uber has played a significant role in increasing its popularity in the Asian region. It should now take measures to ensure that its partners strictly follow its instructions; otherwise, it might suffer in the Chinese transportation market.

App-To-App Linking To Be Replaced By More User-Friendly One via iOS 9

Apple is not fond of URL scheme and wants developers to work on the Universal Links as it promotes user-privacy.
Latest Apple news is regarding the tech giant luring the developers away from URL scheme and its temptations which had been used by Twitter last year so it could be tracked what apps were installed on the users’ iOS devices. In order for this to happen, the company has unveiled a substitute in Universal Links. This alternative approach directs the users exactly to the relevant content within the users’ app, by using the web preceded links which are the standard, for example http:// or https://.
Apple news reports that the approach that has been proposed has couple of advantages. One of the first ones to mention is that this approach avoids the issues pertaining to privacy. It is because the usage of custom schemes does not inform the originating app regarding the fact if the user has the destination app in their phone or not. This also points out that the link opens in app which is correct, that is not true when it comes to URL schemes because that can be adopted by any app and can result in the conflicts between the apps if being selected for more than one app.
The Universal links provide the ability for the path of solid feature which does not result in not letting the users know if the app is not installed. Instead, the URL redirects the users to the companion website that shall be present for the particular app in Safari, either to the destination page for the installation of that app, if created by the developer or to the content that was being searched for.
Universal Link and the features that are related use http or https standard web links and also let the developers keep track of how much site section can be searched in the app and what should be done when the content being searched for is not in the app yet however can be found on the site.
Such Universal Links being set up that route the users successfully who click on the URLs to developer’s app expect some work to be done from the developer’s side as well. This includes the special json file that shall be created by the developer and will be residing on the developer’s website server. Through iOS 9, Apple has aimed to make this process easier. This has happened by removing the specification that the json file must be signed via SSL certificate from providers that are outside. There are other benefits to the Universal Links but the end-users are most likely to appreciate this change a lot.
