Tesla Opens New Charging Station At Kelowna

Tesla Motors has established a Supercharging station to power up vehicles near the Best Western Hotel.

Tesla Motors has made an addition to its charging infrastructure in Canada. The electric vehicle revolution has reached to new heights in the Canadian city ‘Kelowna’ permitting owners of Tesla vehicles to power up their cars in minutes rather than hours.
The company has established a “supercharging” station capable of accommodating up to 8 automobiles near the Best Western Hotel. Presently, many Tesla owners are aiming to drive 200 kilometers – a distance that required 4 to 5 hours of charging time – could replenish batteries in a time span of 20 minutes.
“Before Superchargers, I would need to plan for 14 hours of charging in order to get to Revelstoke and back,” stated David Webster, an owner of a Tesla S85 in the city.
In the Canadian regional district, Central Okanagan, there are 25 Tesla cars, so the new station has proved beneficial for only a small number of drivers. Owners normally charge at their homes or use a charging facility at the Okanagen College’s KLO Campus, which supplies 6 kilowatts of electricity. The new Superchargers are able to produce 120 kilowatts.
At the college charging station, an empty battery is charged in a time span of around 720 minutes, Webster stated, whereas the new facility consumes 75 minutes to perform the same task.
Many drivers would probably use the station in Kelowna, which must be able to boost tourism and expenditure. The automaker has been able to install more than 250 Superchargers, which have been established along significant corridors in the North American region, offering long-distance travel to owners of Tesla vehicles free of charge.
“We strategically place Superchargers to allow owners to drive from station to station with minimal stops,” Alexis Georgeson, who is known for speaking on behalf of the enterprise in Pal Alto, California.
“Superchargers are located near amenities like roadside diners, cafés and shopping centers so road trippers can stop for a quick meal and have their Model S charged by the time they’re done.”
Stations in British Columbia are now opened in a number of cities, including Golden, Kelonwa, Vancouver, Kamloops, Hope and Revelstoke. In the past year, a driver driving from Vancouver to Edmonton was required to charge his/her vehicle for 15 hours along the route.
Today, he/she will have to electrify his battery 4 to 5 times, but can complete the journey 2 to 3 hrs later than a gas- fuelled automobile. With a starting price of $100,000, most people cannot own Tesla, but improvements in the technology of batteries and the growth in the output of highway-capable electrified vehicles have indicated that the reign of the vehicle's internal combustion engine is finite.
The charging stations not only pump EVs sales but also relieve owners from the hassle of long charging queues.
