Ford Offers Android Auto, Apple CarPlay To Sync 3 In 2017 Vehicles


Ford Motors Company would equip its 2017 models with new applications.

Ford Motors Company expects that it would be able to compete with rivals, such as Hyundai and General Motors, as it has planned to offer 4G LTE, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and other applications on 2017 model automobiles installed with Sync 3 infotaiment system.
The news was to be disclosed in Las Vegas in conjunction with Consumer Electronics Show 2016, a huge electronics show often used by automotive organizations to announce improvements in technology. A number of Michigan based company’s executives are participating in the show, and a large number of proclamations would probably be made this week.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay would be provided in the North American region on all 2017 models of Ford cars in which Sync 3 has been installed, beginning with the Escape. Owners of 2016 models with Sync 3 could be upgrading their technologies later this year.
According to Apple Insider, Don Butler of Ford said, "SYNC allows customers to bring the smartphone technology they're comfortable with into a vehicle and use it without hassle. With SYNC, we move at our customers' pace - making it easy for them to maintain a connected lifestyle no matter their choice of smartphoneapps or services inside and outside their vehicle."
In May, GM CEO Mary Barra announced the option to plug in either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto of Google to the touchscreen of the automobile would be offered on 14 models of Chevrolet starting with 2016 models that were offered for sale later in summer.
Hyundai exclaimed it will be offering Android Auto in the 2016 Sonata, but the feature was postponed and is currently promised later in March. Both companies are ahead of the plans of Ford, which will make an addition of the features to 2017 versions, most of which will be offered for sale later.
Making an addition of Apple CarPlay to Sync offers users of iPhones to access messages and maps. The automotive organization already announced that music commands and phone could be done by touchscreen or utilizing Siri.
For users of Android smartphones, Android Autos is utilized to access Google music, voice search, maps and other features through controls on the steering wheel or touchscreen.
AppLink for Ford permits motorists to use voice commands of the vehicle to control approved applications on their smartphone. The first applications employing the GPS and vehicle mileage would be offered in 2016, including access to CAA in Canada and AAA member services in the United States for finding gas stations.
