Latest Qualcomm news is regarding the collaboration of the company with Google in order to work on Project Tango. In the recent years and also the years ahead, Augmented Reality is shaping into a big business, as the tech giants begin to see at the practical uses that it may have, beyond the fun factor that it might be providing. Some cool gaming effects can be developed by and also the control features with the help of AR, however the possible combinations for the industries of different interest have always been fascinating. Limbic, the partner of Google and also the game developer have demonstrated the AR with Zombie Gunship at the conference of NVIDIA, held earlier in the year of 2015.
The market for Augmented Reality has started picking up the vapor and we have seen the latest entrant in the form of Apple who recently acquired Metaio last week. On the other hand, Google has been in the front of technology, introducing Google Glass and Project Tango tablet. For the hand held devices, the search engine giant has collaborated with NVIDIA and also aligned with its Tegra platform with the help of powerful graphics engine with the name of GeForce in order to power Tango tablet and the related devices.
At the Google I/O conference that was held in San Francisco last week, Qualcomm news reports that the company stepped up and announced that the upcoming Project Tango smartphone will consist of the platform engine which is their Snapdragon 810 SoC along with graphics of Adreno 430.
The interesting fact is that the Snapdragon 810 Soc is currently the fastest System on Chip smartphone in the market. Also it is powering the latest HTC One M9 at the moment which is leaving other flagship smartphones being shipped in dust, however struggles with the battery life a little. It has left behind the iPhone 6 and in some cases the Galaxy S6 as well. Therefore if the Google has opted for Snapdragon then it seems to be the sound choice for Tango smartphone and might be the interesting device for many developers at the time when it shall be made available in Q3.
The people who are interested in this device can get themselves registered. The new devices are said to be handed to the developers by next week, so it relies on them if they wish to do something interesting with it.
