Facebook Modifies A Feature On Events

Facebook has replaced 'Maybe' With 'Interested' button on Events.

Facebook has modified its platform and taken a decision that instead of offering its users a “Maybe” button on Events, it would offer them an “Interested” button, an employee told The Next Web. The “Interested” button has been offered to every user of the social media platform and he/she would probably find it on the public Event pages soon.
Nevertheless, private events would still be having a “Maybe” button. By opting for the “Interested” feature, he/she is informing the Event organizer that the particular user is interested but cannot decide yet.
Similarly, if a user presses “Interested”, then he/she would not only be notified but also be updated about the events. Choosing “Maybe” looks ambiguous about whether a particular user would participate in an event or not. Facebook News affirmed that this alteration might improve the prospects of users responding to invitations.
In addition to this, since a larger number of users are estimated to give their responses to invitations, event marketers would reach more users. Facebook news today exclaimed that the network giant has been examining the word change since March 2013.
Facebook Events is known for helping people organize events, such as baby showers and birthdays. Previously this year, the company initiated the practice of notifying users about nearby and upcoming events. Users who would be subscribing to events would be notified when their Favorite Pages host events near them.
An official at FacebookAditya Koolwal, lately told Mashable that some of the feedback received regarding the feature is that users could not give invitations to all of their friends because not all of them are using the social platform, especially in the growing markets.
Eventually users would yet be able to send an invitation to a friend if they enter his or her email address, who would receive an email that provides them an opportunity to reply without the requirement of a Facebook profile.
Faebook Breaking news reported that Aditya stated in a phone call interview, “You won’t have the full Facebook experience, but for me, that’s fine, because as the organizer of that event, it’s important to know that I can invite you.” The least favored addition made to Events in 2015 was “read receipts”, which would let hosts find out who was invited and review the updates published on the Event page.
It could be assumed that the organization’s initiative would lure users towards its platform and improve interactivity.
