Verizon To Come Up With Faster Internet Service

Verizon is all set to offer Internet speed up to 10 Gbps

Verizon Communications Inc. is extremely satisfied with its recent fiber optic technology that has resulted in more success for the company. As sources reports, the company’s fiber optic service can offer internet speed up to 10 Gbps. The company recently conducted field tests for this service where they find it to have a rather promising future.
It has also been reported that once the hardware constraints are resolved then VZ will be able to supply its services to consumers. This encompasses switched Ethernet resulting in the FiOS service to make its way to FTTP network. Lee Hicks, the vice president of network technology at Verizon claims that this technology has a capacity of 40-80 Gbps so “adding new colors of light onto the existing fiber where all the colors will result in improved capacity of the FiOS’ approximately by 10 Gbps.
These field tests were conducted at Verizon’s headquarters situated at Framingham, Massachusetts.  So it was deduced during the test that Verizon has rolled out its optical network that targets the next generation that covers almost 3 miles radius near its headquarters.
This compatibility will help users to interchange in case the hardware turns out to be faulty. The optical network terminal (ONT) by Verizon has the ability to switch immediately to an alternate wavelength. So this clearly means that the internet speed will not go below 10 Gbps since various backup possibilities are available. Moreover, Verizon is also set to encourage vendors to buy their hardware and software by the end of the fiscal year of 2015, according to Verizon news.
So the question here arises, that why any user might need an Internet speed of 10 Gbps since a few Mbps is good enough for regular usage. However, in the times to come 10 Gbps will be the need of the masses due to 4K video streaming that offers high resolution, growth in the streaming demand, dependency on cloud based technologies will make high speeds a necessity. Moreover, companies that offer cloud services will also benefit from the 10 Gbps internet since the downloading process will become relatively quicker.
Mr. Hicks further mentioned that VZ will have no difficulty in upgrading to FiOS, with the add on of electronics to fiber based networks. This will apparently raise the bar for ventures like Project Fi by Google.
Moreover, the US attorney recently passed a verdict according to which Verizon Internet service is currently offering the fastest Internet service to date.
