BlackBerry Updates Its Messenger Service


BlackBerry upgraded its Messenger service breathing new life to it

BlackBerry Ltd. is all set to come up with new updates that will be launched on the company’s BlackBerry Messenger for the company’s Google Android subscribers.
BlackBerry Messenger was an extremely popular service before the time when WhatsApp actually gained momentum. When BlackBerry smartphone were experience a boom and demand was increasing substantially for their services. It was observed that the need for this service among enterprise and personal users was also accelerating resulting in a surge.
So the company’s latest move is to give a complete makeover to the material design of this service along with better features in terms of security that will be able to reflect the services functionalities feasible for security purposes as reported by the Android Authority.
The company also revealed several screenshots along with the news that clearly indicate that the look of this app will now be cleaner. This app also has a slide out menu that will be found on the left that will have options to customize so that a user can compile quotes and sticker message. This apparently is a massive breakthrough for them that are relatively different from the corporate look of the service breathing new life into it.
This is not it but the company has also replaced the Timed Messages Subscription and Retracted with a new feature known as Privacy and Control Subscription. This will add to the functionality of the service along with the aesthetic changes. So this actually means that users will be able to come up with images, private chats, send out timed messages along with the ability to retract them whenever it is required. Moreover, users can also edit the messages before and after it has been sent.
Apart from that BlackBerry will also be rolling out several hardware upgrades along with changes being made to the software. The company’s upcoming smartphone Oslo and Venice will feature the Android operating system. The reason behind this move by the company is to bolster its mobile division since their sales have been diminishing since the past quarters.
Previously, a developer for BlackBerry published a tweet that showed their BlackBerry Passport that was functioning with Android Lollipop which shows that the company might launch its Android version when this year ends.
BlackBerry will then update the service on its own without any additional cost. So all those interested can actually go to the app store of Google namely Google Play Store in order to have the updated version.
