Microsoft will now make the final call that when to press the update button and not the wireless carrier. The new windows release date, specs and pricing.
According to latest Microsoft updates, the company released yesterday that the new Windows will be available on the July 29 in around 190 markets globally and will also will be available for free upgrade to customers its customers who are currently running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 versions.
If you own a windows PC then you would be probably receiving security updates, new features and bug fixes through Windows Update. That means Microsoft automatically sends updates over the internet and users can easily download and install them on the computer. It doesn’t even matter that which company has manufactured it or where did you get it from.
Microsoft news state that the company also released the price, features, specifications and the release date for Windows 10 UK. Build 10122 which provided the Windows 10 Insider Preview, despite being available for the masses, will make you experience frequent crashes in Microsoft Edge, which is still being called Project Spartan for now for the with an AMD GPU. It however also includes improvements for both Start and Continuum.
"I think you’ll see that this build is a bit more stable and polished than the last one, which is to be expected as we begin to stabilize for the public release this summer. From here on out you’ll see fewer big feature changes from build to build, and more tuning, tweaking, stabilizing, and polishing," as reported by one of the blog posts on the review of Windows 10.
If you own a Windows phone then you probably have to wait for your wireless carrier and phone manufacturer to get the update approved before they release it or its not even sure if they actually release it.For example, Microsoft’s Denim update was announced last year in September but still it’s not available on T-mobile’s Lumia 635, AT&T’s Lumia 830 and other various phones.Things can change with the launch of Windows 10 later this year.
Microsoft’s Terry Myerson stated in a blog post in the beginning of this month that the company’s “continuous update process applies to all Windows 10 devices, including phones,” and ZDNet’s Ed Bott got the confirmation that Microsoft is now taking the charge of the updates available for tablets and smartphones that are powered by Windows software.
So basically it means that it doesn’t matter if you own a LG Lancet, Microsoft Lumia phone, HTC One M8 windows phone or any other device. It shouldn’t even matter what carrier you use. Updates will be available for Windows 10 mobile in a similar way like you will get for Windows 10 for your PCs. Updates will include new features and will also feature reliability fixes.
The latest approach is similar to of how Apple sends out software updates to its IOS users for iPhone and iPad, regardless of what carriers they use. However Microsoft still has to start shipping its Windows 10 mobile.
