Facebook Introduces Unique Locating Feature

Facebook’s intelligent system is capable of helping message receivers track senders.
The American social network, Facebook’s, intelligent system is capable of helping message receivers track senders. Facebook news reported that the company’s platform sends precise information of one’s location to the people on the other end. Every time a user employs his or her phone to send a Facebook message, the network informs receivers about the geographical position of their communication partners. The company uses a chrome extension to gather the communicator’s data.
The developer, Aran Khanna, of the tracking application, called Marauders Map, has explained his invention by stating that he had pioneered it to highlight the ‘creepiness’ of details that people might be sharing. Some of the extracted data helps the company to identify the exact locations of the phone user. He further added that the tracker could be deployed to gather details regarding a person’s routine.
Mr. Aran also stated that a large number of messages are not needed to understand people’s habits, especially if a number of users disseminate that data. Facebook news today informed that one’s geographical information is sent by default with all messages but the network reminds the users about its function. A remainder is given when the installation of the application proceeds.
The disclosed details can be viewed by tapping on individual messages. Company sources have revealed that the sharing update can be easily deactivated. For now, the application developer has stated that mapping problems have made the application non-functional. However, users can access the update through Github.
Mr. Khanna believes that the code would soon start functioning, as the company is working to solve the problem. The application deploys global positioning satellite technology to locate the sender. Facebook has found out that the sender’s room could be tracked by the high tech update.
Facebook breaking news informed that the technology tracks user’s entire geographic history to the first instance of communication. Mr. Khanna warns that a large number of users fail to deactivate the option and get shocked to know that their confidential data is accessed by their communication partners.
The application was pioneered using the mapping network, called Mapbox. Industry sources have informed that the Marauders Map code can be found on Github as well. Experts stated that the new feature would not only help people to locate senders but also help improve the image of the social networking service.
The management of Facebook is now advised to develop strategies and take measures to rectify the application’s fault or it might fail to launch this feature timely in the digital world.
