The American high-tech chip manufacturer, Intel Corporation, has decided to launch its newly pioneered ‘compute stick’ in the market. Intel news reported that the firm is about to introduce an Intel Compute Stick, which has been designed to add to the capacity of digital devices. It is expected that this product would turn every High Definition (HD) multimedia interface port-featuring device into a fully functional windows computer. In this manner, the users of television would be able to benefit from the functions of computer. It would be sold to customers at a price of $150.
Intel news today further affirms the features of the innovation. It is a small computer, which has an HDMI connector on its end. Other features of the product include a Random Access Memory of 2 gigabytes, storage capacity of 32 gigabytes, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Universal serial bus 3.0, and a Micro Universal Serial Bus port. The two USBs would play their role in plugging a number of hardware devices, including mouse and keyboard to the stick. The users of this device would be required to connect this device to the HDMI port of their television or monitor. The chip manufacturer is not the first company who has introduced this invention, as a number of such devices with ARM processors and Android systems are already available in the market. Google has also played its role in transforming television into computers as it launched a Chrome bit computer. This computer has been designed to turn one’s screen into a Chrome OS computer for $100. A number of Chinese device manufacturers have also launched some compute sticks in the market, which employ Intel Atom processors and Windows 8.1 software.
