Snapchat is a social media firm that has taken all of the population by storm, like Facebook and Instagram, it is essential to “swap chat” anything and everything you wish. Not only has it begun the sports broadcasting but also the huge Ali Baba investment being nabbed at about $15 billion estimate. It seems that not everyone at the social messaging firm is enthralled by these deals and revenues.
There have been consecutive big resignations from the executives of the company. It includes Emily White who was hired as the COO of the company back in 2013. The Snapchat news has been shared by Re/code. She being the third top management personnel to leave the company suggests that not everything is alright within the company no matter how successful the recent advancements have been. Also, White being the Facebook alum had a little argument with the CEO, Evan Speigel.
She isn’t the only one who left, HR director Sara Sperling and revenue in- charge Mike Randall also left the company within eight and seven months of joining the firm. The connection between three lies in the association of them with Facebook, the social media giant. Sperling had been at Facebook and was looking for diversity initiatives. White was the senior executive who was responsible for getting the advertising for Instagram. On the other hand, Randall was VP for business / marketing at Facebook. Re/Code points out to this as a questionable thing as recently Snapchat has been into a news in a very positive way. When questioned about how the app’s monetization is taking place, the answer was shifting towards publishing. The Discover sector has been an interesting addition to the company. Netflix-inspired Internet series has been introduced by the company too. As far as the confirmation of White leaving is considered, "Emily is a talented executive and we thank her for her many contributions to Snapchat.”
What we can interpret from these two opposing news is that at one end, $15 million ephemeral company might be interested in extending the business and trying to generate more revenue but as far as the upper management is concerned, they might have a little argumentative approach towards it. We, as of now, have no clue where Emily White plans to make a difference next but the eyes are on her. Till then, keep posting seconds-long videos and crazy pictures on Snapchat! Also, we are hoping that no other higher management plans on leaving the company as it might come to all of us as a saddening news.
